Ahwatukee Foothills, commonly simply called Ahwatukee, is a metropolitan village of Phoenix az, Arizona.Geographically, Ahwatukee develops the southernmost section of Phoenix metro. It is also thought about to be part of the East Valley area of the Phoenix az city.

Development of Ahwatukee started in 1970, when Presley Development Firm, led by Randall Presley, acquired 2,080 acres (840 ha) of land. The land consisted of Ahwatukee Ranch, owned by a land syndicated owned by a professor at Arizona State College English. It also included land belonging to a local moving and storage company. Initially, Presley wanted the location to be a retirement. Later he created a mix of retired life living, family members living, and light industrial zoning for this area.
